Azim Hajee

Azim Hajee is Negotiations Officer for Prospect, union for engineers, professional, managerial and scientific staff.  He represents workers in electricity supply and museums; and has negotiated the European Works Council for Electricité de France, and its global agreement for corporate social responsibility.

In the 1990s Azim worked with John La Rose and others on the European Action for Racial Equality and Social Justice and on the organising committee for the International Book Fair of Radical Black and Third World Books.  He was press officer for the Stephen Lawrence Family Campaign; he worked with the civil service union, PCS, and led the first courts’ staff strike against PFI. He was a campaigner for black workers self-organisation in the 1980s, and a founder member of Camden Black Workers Group, and Nalgo National Black Members Committee.
