Join us for our first discussion event of 2020 when eminent activist-scholar Abdul Alkalimat explores developments in the Black Liberation Movement/s in the United States. With a long history of involvement in various organised struggles, including the African Liberation Support Committee, the Black Left Unity Network and SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), Abdul Alkalimat holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Chicago. He is the author of several books including The Wall of Respect (2017), Black Toledo (2017) and Rethinking Afro-Cuba (2016).
