Build Your Own Archives! Session 3: Thinking About Your Digital Archives

Session 3: Thinking About Your Digital Archives

Saturday 4 May (2.00-5.00)

Venue: George Padmore Institute (GPI)

In collaboration with PhD researcher Vivian Latinwo-Olajide and the University of Leicester, the George Padmore Institute (GPI) is proud to present the final session of our three part workshop series introducing participants to basic archival practice, whilst exploring critical questions. All sessions are free but donations to the GPI are welcome.

For session 3, we welcome Kelly Foster, founding organiser for AfroCROWD UK and experienced trainer in digital research and heritage. We will focus on how to manage the digital material we are all creating on a daily basis and consider the value of that material, including discussing social media, ethics and thinking about critical approaches to using digital information.

We will also be providing a tour of the GPI archives room.

To book your place, please RSVP to info@georgepadmoreinstitute.org or follow https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/build-your-own-archive-session-3-thinking-about-your-digital-archives-tickets-61093259584

Places are limited, so please only RSVP if you are definitely attending. If you can no longer attend, please email Sarah Garrodinfo@georgepadmoreinstitute.org

Please note that the GPI is an inaccessible building. We will be making resources available after the workshops.
