We will be closing the GPI archive search room and office for 9 (working) days from Fri 31 July to Weds 12 August 2015. The GPI's second public event in connection with its 'Dream To Change to World' exhibition takes place on Thursday 30th July at Islington Museum at 6:30pm.

This event will centre around a discussion between GPI Trustees Roxy Harris and Linton Kwesi Johnson om some of the idesa and themes contained in John La Rose's collection 'Unending Journey Selected Writings'. Many of his essays remain relevant to today's socio-economic and political climate. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thursday 16th July sees the GPI holding the first of three public events at Islington Museum, home of its current 'Dream To Change the World' exhibition.

'Curating the Exhibition' is an informal presentation by some of the individuals who were involved in putting the exhibition together from concept to display.

We look forward to seeing you there!   


The GPI is holding the first of three public events to accompany the 'Dream To Change the World' exhibition currently on at Islington Museum.

'Curating The Exhibition' will take place on Thursday 16th July at Islington Museum at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there!

My name is Michael La Rose and I have been chair of the George Padmore Institute GPI for nearly 10 years now

Today’s launch of the Dream to Change the World exhibition to celebrate the life and legacy of my father John La Rose is one of the landmark achievements of the GPI to date.
