Trustee Aggrey Burke awarded the President's Medal for Services to Psychiatry

Congratulations to one of our longstanding trustees Dr. Aggrey Burke on being awarded the President's Medal by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The award was in recognition of  the significant work he has undertaken in his profession over many years, especially in relation to mental illness in black families. The President's Medal was accepted at a virtual presentation ceremony during the recent lockdown period. In the 1980's Aggrey Burke co-wrote a groundbreaking paper for the Medical Education Journal which laid bare the 'colour bar' in medical schools in London. He continues to write on issues of equality and race. Once again we congratulate our friend and trustee!
