The George Padmore Institute (GPI) is pleased to announce that we will be part of this year’s Open House Festival, an annual celebration of London's architecture and neighbourhoods, and the people and communities that make them.
Join us on Tuesday 16 September for a 30-minute visit between 10.30am and 5pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the GPI's history from our Trustee Sharmilla Beezmohun and handle some of our archival collections in the session led by our archivist Sarah Garrod. We will also have a bookstall selling GPI publications on the day.
This is a rare occasion to visit an archive if you have never been to one before. You will learn what an archive is along with stories of Black British history the GPI preserves.
